After a hiatus of a very long five years, here I am again! Hopefully to stay.

A big reason for my return to this medium is the lack of safety and support I feel sharing my thoughts within the horror community in the places I am active.

Loud, closed-minded people have been slowly taking over on a particular horror-centric social media site. Users were getting pretty lax about the horror-focused rule for posts and for the most part this was great. It was lovely to get to know people on a deeper level, especially when the cute cat content increased significantly. Now with the ease of sharing things from everywhere else on the Internet this former spooky oasis has essentially become FB in black and red instead of white and blue.

Just like anywhere else these days, the wrong people yell and stomp their feet and ruin things for everyone else. They refuse to see that their vitriol causes real harm. Those who disagree with them apparently need to learn to take a joke and keep their opinions to themselves while also quietly receiving the offensive comments and replies made by people who seem to have never read a book, especially the one they claim is the source of all their beliefs.

I know there is little hope in changing the views of some people, and so I retreat here in the hopes I can take a small step in creating the place I wish to see for my community: A sanctuary for kind people who like their horror completely fictional and not playing out in real life and getting worse every single day.

So please feel free to join me and share that there are people in the horror community who are not interested in participating in the perpetuation of hate of any kind. You can expect to see thoughts on movies (mostly horror) and on things I have read or heard on a podcast and I would like to continue sharing the work of horror artists I enjoy. My posts will be generally positive or neutral and probably dripping in feminist and queer takes. I hope to see you there.
